Text Box: Follow Daily Beijing Olympic Shooting Reports on CMP Website.  CMP Director Gary Anderson will be in Beijing during the nine days of Olympic shooting that begin on Saturday, 9 August and end on Sunday, 17 August.  Anderson is serving as the Chairman of the Jury of Appeal for Shooting.  While he is in Beijing for the Olympics, he will send back daily reports on the shooting events.  These reports and accompanying photos will be posted on the CMP website at http://www.odcmp.com/OlympicShooting.htm.  If you  are interested in these special reports on the Beijing Olympic shooting events, plan to check this site on a daily basis from 9 August through 17 August.
 
JMIC (JROTC Marksmanship) Class Announced for South Carolina Area.  Master Chief Tim Strickland, JMIC Master Instructor, will be conducting a Marksmanship JMIC class on August 23, 2008  at West Ashley H.S. NJROTC, Charleston, SC.  The class will be conducted in Room 608 starting at 8:00AM till 4:00 PM. Cost is $5.00 for lunch. Please call (843) 573-1201 Ext.5201or email MCPO Strickland at strickland@training.navy.mil if you would like to attend.  There are spots for 31 attendees.

Text Box: US Army Reserve Sergeant First Class Norman Anderson Sets New National Matches Record for President’s Rifle Match - What was planned to be a match within a match, the 2008 President’s 100 Rifle Match on Monday, 28 July became even more interesting half way through the final stage.  The pressure-filled event gave finalists, fellow competitors, match organizers and spectators each something to talk about for years to come.

Text Box: Rifle Small Arms Firing School - While few attendees admit that they learn scads of new information at the Rifle Small Arms Firing School (SAFS), one thing is certain – there are very few empty seats in the Camp Perry auditorium on Day One of the school and there is seldom a no-show on the firing line that afternoon for practice firing or at the M-16 Excellence in Competition (EIC) match on the morning of Day Two.
