Reserve Soldier claims All-Army Small Arms Championship - By Michael Molinaro, USAMU PAO - FORT BENNING, Ga. - FORT BENNING, Ga. (March 1, 2010) -- Close to 300 Soldiers from all elements of the Army descended on Fort Benning Feb. 20-27, to take part in the 2010 All-Army Small Arms Championships, the Army's pre-eminent marksmanship training and competition.  Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Russell Moore, 2nd Battalion, Small Arms Readiness Group, Camp Bullis, Texas, withstood strong competition and unpredictable weather to win the 2010 Overall Individual Championship, his second in a row. JROTC cadets compete in competition - By Pam Keyes, Pekin Daily Times - CLINTON, Ohio - Two students from Pekin Community High School JROTC’s Air Rifle Team competed in a National championship Feb. 19 in Port Clinton, Ohio.  Cadet Master Sgt. Matthew Gin and Cadet Capt. Coweta Sports Digest: Grumbling sets record to win National Marine Corps rifle title - By Chris Goltermann, The Times-Herald (Newnan, GA) - The giant vacancy left by a pair of All-State shooters in East Coweta's program may now measure as small as the tiny hole left during a perfect shot by a precision air rifle. That's because Adam Grumbling has been a near-miss in both instances this year for ECHS. 2010 Air Rifle Camp Registration Opens with a Flurry - NJROTC Seniors shine at Navy JROTC Service Air Rifle Championship

Registration Now Open for the 2010 Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches - 8 – 16 May 2010, Camp Butner National Guard Training Center, Butner, North Carolina - CAMP PERRY, OHIO - The Official Program for the 2010 Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches hosted by the North Carolina Army National Guard at Camp Butner, North Carolina on 8-16 May is now available for online competitor registration and general information at the Civilian Marksmanship Program web site at www.odcmp.com.

2010 CMP Monthly Match Program.  The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) invites you and your club rifle team to participate in the CMP’s Monthly Matches. The matches will take place at the CMP’s Marksmanship Centers North (Camp Perry, OH) and South (Anniston, AL) on 24 April (Ohio only), 15 May and 19 June. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20, 60 Shots Air Rifle Standing, 60 Shots Air Pistol, a 20 shot Novice Prone stage, a National Match Air Rifle 20 Shot Standing and 3x20 events.  For registration and additional information, visit http://www.odcmp.com/MarksmanshipCenters.htm.

CAMP PERRY, OHIO - Steven Frazier, 17, of McDonough, Georgia, a senior shooting for Union Grove High School NJROTC, won the precision air rifle title at the 2010 Navy JROTC Service Championships here Saturday, 13 February at the Camp Perry Marksmanship Center.  Yvonne Swiontek, 17, of Beach Park, Illinois, a senior NJROTC shooter from Zion-Benton High School in Zion, IL, captured the sporter class championship.  Swiontek also won the Camp Perry Open sporter championship just a few weeks earlier.

2010 JMIC Master Instructor Training Courses.  The CMP will conduct a series of JMIC Master Instructor Training Workshops in 2010 to train new JMIC Master Instructors and recertify current active JMIC Master Instructors who were originally trained in 2005 and whose certificates expire in 2010. Recent experience in conducting rifle marksmanship training and organizing a rifle team at a JROTC Unit or Junior Rifle Club is a prerequisite for attending a JMIC Master Instructor Course. 2010 GSM Master Instructor Workshops Announced.  Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as “Master Instructors” to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop.  The GSM Master Instructor Workshops are:
