Thanks to PEE WEE for all he's done to help complete my collection. Dave A. June 30, 2005I received my M-1 this past Friday. I made the purchase because I was looking for an M-1 to kick about reenacting and was going to use the WW2 date that I had bought off of Auction Arms for living histories etc.... Boy was I pleasantly surprised; no it was not a WW2 date but the finish was about 95% and the wood is great, I guess I lucked out as they say. Problem is that this one is too nice to reenact with (but it will be GREAT for living histories) and I have been told that me WW2 rifle has such a rare barrel maker that I should not use it either..... looks like I will have to buy another (oh darn!).. Well if you are in Lutz, Florida this 4th you can see my new M-1, just look for the WW2, 2nd Rangers, it will be there! Thanks CMP! Kevin. June 29, 2005CMP , I recently purchased an M1 Garand from you at your store in camp perry. I bought a Greek Springfield service grade. It looked kinda rough when I first bought but it grew on my right after I shot it. It shoots like a dream. Thanks to the nice people at the CMP North store. It really is a Grand Garand! ~Zac . Toledo, O H June 29, 2005I would like to commend CMP on the way my order was handled and the way that it was packaged and shipped I was able to track it all the way to my home. I received my ROO1GK-HRA M1 Garand Field Grade - Greek Issue this morning at about 9:30AM and was thrilled to see it and that it is in good condition and the way it was packaged there was no way it could be damaged in shipping, thanks for a job well done and I am in the process of ordering another one and hope that the next one will also be in good condition. Thanks, Tommy H. June 28, 2005Thank you folks so much. USGI SA Service Grade just arrived. It is my first Garand, it is beautiful, and, I'm sure, one of the last in the house. To all the overworked, underappreciated staff at CMP, my deepest gratitude. Ron C. June 26, 2005I mailed in my order for a SA Field Grade on the 6th, check cleared and order processed on the 14th, and received it on the 24th!!!! Not only did it not take as long as I expected but the rifle arrived in great condition. The finish looks great and the stock only has two very small dents. I could not be happier. Thank You CMP!!! David C. June 25, 2005CMP, Over the years I have bought three M-1's from CMP. One was a Springfield that was a real nice rifle. Looked almost new and fired like a dream. Unfortunately the State of Connecticut illegally confiscated it from me just for passing through their state. I could go on and on about how much I despise that state and it's corrupt government but will leave it at that. I also bought a Harrington & Richardson from CMP which was ok as a service weapon. The finish was poor and the stock pretty beat up, but it was ok. I also bought a Winchester M-1, which although looking like a nice gun, it has had problems. I've had burst fire from it (firing two rounds with one trigger pull) and jamming problems. I don't even shoot the Winchester because it is dangerous when you get burst fire from it as you don't know where that second bullet ends up. So the Springfield was the best but I don't have it anymore and the other two are marginal when it comes to service grade. They could almost be rack grade, so they were disappointing. But I still love your services and the M-1 Garand! Thank you for letting me share my comments. Eric T . June 24, 2005I recently got into the High Power shooting and have borrowed a rifle. I can't keep borrowing a gun so I need my own. The AR15 does not have the charm of the M1 so I was sent to you folks for the purchase of my own. I was torn about what to get, so I called you operation (CMP South). There I spoke with Jerry Shealy in the armory. Although he would not make a specific recommendation, he took time to answer the questions I had on the different guns and grades. Thanks to his knowledge and appreciation of my quandary, I feel confident in the choice I made and I just mailed in my order for a Correct Grade, Springfield Armory rifle. June 24, 2005I received my M-1 Garand yesterday and it is a terrific rifle in fantastic shape. If I didn't know better, I would swear it was the same rifle issued to me many years ago. Eleven days from the day I placed the order until it was on my doorstep. Can't ask for better than that. Keith J. June 23, 2005Have been remiss in writing, received my Greek H R M1 in fine order a few weeks ago, fast shipping. Great looking rifle, but haven't had time to clean it and do any targets yet. Great program, have wanted to buy one of the CMP rifles for years but couldn't see them first. So glad to see you folks at the Reno gun show, am tickled with the one I picked out. Great people you sent. Perry H. June 22, 2005Hey, the web site is great!! I just received my Greek issue M1, and am extremely pleased. I hope that you will soon re-open the purchase of M-16 Bushmasters. It is a terrific loss to those of us who are just now entering the shooting programs supported by the CMP. I entered the program just as the last Bushmasters were sold. I shoot a M-1A in competition, but would like to get my hands on a M-16 at a reasonable price. Please put these rifles back in our accessibility. Thank you, Neal A. June 19, 2005I feel that you are the only organization that sells reasonably priced M1 Garands and Springfields. thank you. Chris D. June 18, 2005I recently purchased a Greek issue Springfield Garand, and in addition to being thrilled with the condition and performance of this fine rifle. I shot at a CMP match in my home town, and took second place. The old Springfield was bested by an accurized M1 in 7.62 NATO (but only by a couple points) so I had no choice but to order another CMP M1 one of these will be accurized, and the other left as a functional memorial to those who gave all with their love of country and trusty M1s. Matt W. June 16, 2005Received the Springfield Greek issue service grade M1 last week, very good condition. I would highly recommend ordering through CMP. Thanks much. Fred S. June 11, 2005Dear CMP I received my M1 Garand. It needs some care but it was well worth the money. It was a pleasure doing business with you. I found your sales dept kept me well informed about my order and helped me in my decision on which to purchase. I thank you and plan to buy another to restore and shoot. June 09, 2005My Springfield field grade Garand arrived today. I have to say, it is perfect. I can not believe the service that I received, Topnotch. I have to thank everyone at CMP from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to own a piece of history. Be sure that anytime someone asks me how my dealings with CMP were I will tell them nothing but the greatest things. Keep up the great job! Brett D. June 08, 2005In April of 2005, I participated in my very first rifle match. It was a 'Military Shoot' at my local club, and the rules were simply any military rifle, no optics. I chose to use my CMP M1 Garand, and I used the Lake City 30.06 surplus ammo that I also purchased through the CMP. The targets were placed at 100 yards, and we took 10 shots off the bench, 10 off hand. I was a little intimidated when I saw lots of the competitors showing up with expensive 'match grade' rifles and premium and hand loaded ammo. I decided to not worry about it and just have fun. Once the match was over and the scoring was complete, I was very surprised to find out that I had tied for first place with a score of 164-2x, out of a possible 200. Not bad for a rifle made in 1943 with no modifications and surplus ammo! I am so proud of my Garand! Matt S. June 09, 2005A very much needed program and service. An outstanding web site. Thank You. R.H.G. June 07, 2005I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your fast service and the very nice M-1 I received today via FedEx. My Rife is in better over all condition then I expected. If it shoots anything like it looks I will be very very happy. To get my Garand in a total of 22 days was totally unexpected. I recall so many years ago when I got my first weapon from the old DCM/NRA program it took many months. You guys are great!! Thank you! Tom N. June 04, 2005I received my Greek field grade H&R M1. I am really surprised at what good condition it is, and that has almost all matching H&R parts. My expectations have been far exceeded. I got a great one! Thanks CMP! Thomas M. June 02, 2005Good morning, I visited your North Store at Camp Perry, OH yesterday and purchased some ammo and an '03A3 rifle. I would like to compliment the people who helped me with my purchase. This was my first purchase from the CMP and it was made very enjoyable by the CMP employees. They were courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. I am sure they have hear the questions I asked a thousand times but they gave me all the help I needed. The store was busy yet they did a wonderful job of helping me. Many thanks to these fine gentlemen...Best regards, Larry A June 02, 2005Received my Greek service grade Garand, and was delighted! Condition is excellent, and greatly exceeded my expectations.
