I bought Greek return dated March of 1945 and the other was a complete Danish return less wood, dated December of 1943. Both garands had the correct barrels to the receivers and showed all of the expected up-dated from the �clean and repair� program after WWII. The whole staff was very helpful and eager. This includes the lady who opened the door to the ladies who ran my background check and received the payment. I would like to point out how impressed I was with the professionalism showed by Mr. James Cullins. He was very helpful in providing information, which lead to my buying these two garands. All I told him was I wanted two WWII garands so my sons could �shoot a weapon with history� as my oldest son put it. Four hours later with me and my wife going through every garand there, we found six that looked good. When I told him about having a S.A. G.A.W stock he showed us the wood-less garands. There is where I found the 1943 garand. It was like a puzzle that fit together. Both of my boys are now shooting a garand like their grandfather did when he was in the 178th RCT during the Korea War. I only wish he could show them how to shoot like he did me. Sean C. November 28, 2006Just wanting to pass on that that I am very pleased with the ammunition I ordered. Very good quality. November 26, 2006It seems to me like the M1 rifles that are coming out from CMP keep getting better and better. I now own four, and the last (2) have been the best yet. And the best part of my experience with CMP is with the customer service. Judy and Sandra were professional, very helpful, and pleasent to talk with, and my questions got answered immediately. Though your web site said 60-120 days processing, I recieved my Garand in just a couple of weeks. It arrived the day before Thanksgiving. Just one more thing to be thankful for! I ordered my rifle on 10/23/06, upgraded to Service Grade on 11/4/06 and received my rifle this morning, 11/17/06. Amazingly fast service. The rifle is better than I anticipated, bright shiney bore, excellent metal, very good stock, with only a few dents. No need to do anything but clean it and shoot it. You people must work hard, your commitment to excellence shows. Thanks for perserving and passing on a vital part of American history. William D. November 10, 2006I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful pair of Garands. Not only was the service impeccable and delivery faster than I had ever imagined, but the rifles are a wonderful surprise with their preservation. They are not brand new, but that is now what I wanted. I wanted a piece of history that my grandfather and great uncle held. I just received my Greek ammo today and I must say I am impressed with
the condition of it.I opened the can and the rounds and bandoliers are in
excellent shape.Although I didn't purchase my Garand from the CMP I am still
very happy with the service I have received from your organization.I look

November 9, 2006Dear CMP, In the past I've ordered several Garands and a couple of 1903's. Each and every one was in excellent condition. Turn around time was faster then expected. Each of my three boys now own an M-1 and I have two. I instructed them in the safety, breakdown and maint.of the rifle and all three love em. My son Jack, took two first place trophies with his at the Daniel Boone, shoot at our local club. Last month I ordered a case of LC 06. and an M1 bolt tool. When FedEx pulled up I was expecting the bolt tool.. I was surprised to see the case of M2 ball arrive before the tool. That arrived the next day. I hope you don't run out of M1 Garands in the near future. I plan to purchase a few more. That is one super beautiful rifle (in any condition) Mine will stay in tip top. Would this qualify as a affiliated club? My foster father served in WWII and brought back an M1 Garand from the war. I always loved the feel and the history that weapon possessed. I'll never forget the day he gave it to me to take deer hunting and I shot my first buck with it. Back then the Garand didn't have as much meaning as it does today. My foster brothers treated it as an old piece of junk, but they had a different opinion after I took that big buck with it. Thank you for your time and dedication to the M1. Terry G. November 6, 2006I went to Anniston last weekend and purchased an M1. Wanted to express my appreciation to you and your staff for the very courteous and caring way they helped with my selections. It's as if they share the enthusiasm we have when we go there, boy thing I guess. Everyone there was very helpful and cheerful, like they like their work and are glad to see us. I believe they really cared! Were very helpful in finding a place to stay and eat. I ended up at the Jazz Cafe for dinner, real South La. food! Stayed at the Jamison Inn. Highly recommend both.
