My Field Grade M1 arrived this morning and I couldn't be more pleased. Apart from the incredibly fast turn around of the order, the rifle is so nice that I thought for a minute that you sent the higher grade. Thanks, Nate B.

I just wanted to thank you all at CMP again for the outstanding work you all perform on a daily basis. I just barely made the cutoff on the Springfield 1903's and I was totally pleased in every way with the Mark 1 that was delivered. I am sure I speak for all true Lovers of American Battle rifles when I say there has never been a more valuable establishment for the preservation of some really historic firearms. Thanks again for working so hard to get these into our hands so that future generations will get a chance to possess these legendary rifles. Charles B

Thank you for the excellent service you provided. I just received my M1 Garand, only 16 days after mailing. Tonight I clean, tomorrow I shoot." LIFE IS GOOD" THANKS AGAIN, Mike C.

Thank you CMP for my Service Grade Garand. It was BEAUTIFUL, much better than expected, yet everything I had hoped for. The wood was in excellent shape, the metal finish was great, and the action smooth and tight. Cant wait to fire it. It was not loaded down with tons of cosmo but only needed a little cleaning to get off the traces. It took weeks not months, and I feel very lucky to get one of the last service grade rifles available. I am receiving two field grade rifles this morning, cant wait to see what kind of condition they are in... will let you know. Thanks again. Todd L.

Received my Danish M-1 without wood and am I pleased!!  The SN indicates this was a SA rifle manufactured in November 1942.  Not much bluing left on exposed parts, but very sound mechanically.  It looks very nice in its used but not abused stock and guards.  It reminds me of the one I qualified with at ROTC Summer Camp back in 1964. I am actually a year younger than this one with a lot of miles on me, too!  I served 10 years in the U.S. Army and qualified with the M-14 and M-16, but never felt as comfortable with them. Thanks CMP -- keep up the good work.

CMP:  It is such a great pleasure to deal with an organization in which the personnel obviously love their work and fully understand the concept of customer service, and in deed, who the customer is. This organization knows and certainly follows the Golden Rule. It makes one want to buy more just to be able to experience the level of service they provide. CMP is certainly worthy of the accolade that is normally the last line in the citations to accompany the award of a medal, i.e. "The actions of the people reflect great credit upon themselves and CMP. Thank you for the wonderful service that you provide to so many. GHF, Col, Ret

I was just up at the north store in Camp Perry last week and purchased an M-1. The people there were very helpful with my selection. I have always wanted to own one ever since I trained with the M-1 in Basic Training at Ft. Jackson S.C. I was just not able to afford one till now. I retired from the US Army in 1979. Thanks again for all your help..... Ed M.

I found out via a phone call from you this morning that I had forgotten a critical document in the M1 rifle order I mailed last week. I was able to fax the paper this afternoon and I appreciate your dedication in helping me out when you could have returned my order instead. Nate B.

Dear Friends of CMP, Just received my Service M1 Garand about a week ago, much sooner than expected, and it is just beautiful. Although I haven't had it to a Smith yet, it looks great, with a few dings in the wood, but the Serial Number is 5 numbers, and has been updated. According to some numbers on the side, It looks like a May of 1945 manufacture, but the Receiver (which is extra clean) has a prefix of 65 which, according to the NRA Rifleman, means it was a Korean War rifle. That means a great deal to me, since my Dad SFC Dave Grass Jr. of the 24th Infantry Division, 19 Regt. was KIA in Korea, 4-20-51, and he used an M1 Garand. You have made my dream come true to have a weapon like the one my dad used in Korea. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. By the way I'm 60 years old. God bless all of you and long live our "right to bear arms". CMP and all the staff are the greatest!!! These people care!! Ken G.

Dear CMP,  I received my Collector Grade Garand today (9/15/06). It is a HRA manufacture with all its original components. I am very impressed with it and it was well worth the wait as it is in Mint condition. Riffle was packaged very well. Its a keeper. Thanks very much, and I must say that you have handled all my transitions with professionalism, courtesy, and quality.  Brian  L.

I can't express just how happy I am with my SA M1, service grade, received just 30 minutes ago. Receiver - excellent. Barrel seems to be new. Stock (well matched walnut) - just enough dings to give it historic appearance. Manufacturing date - May 1945. To all the staff at CMP, Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU! ! ! ! Harvey D.

Aloha. I received our order for 3 Garand rifles in good order. Loved the packaging and documentation. Was very surprised at the quality of the rifles even though the stocks will need some work but the actions and barrels were in great shape. On second thought the stocks are vintage and will take restoration well. Thanks again for the good communication, wonderful shipping and allowing us to have a piece of American History. My gunsmith was very impressed. I'll be back to order more. Rev. Dr. Neal M. US Army Infantry Ret.

Dear CMP Staff, First of all, I would like to recognize and thank all CMP staff for the outstanding customer service that they have provided me. Your team is outstanding! Just 19 days from the date I mailed my order for one case of Lake City M2 Ball, the ammo was received. I spot checked a few rounds from each box and they all appear perfect. Thank you again for superb service, and a great product. Edward J. L. CMS, USAF, Ret.

It was with great interest that I read your article on the rededication of the Viale Range. A heroic man like Robert Viale must never be forgotten, and it must have been a proud moment for his son attending the ceremony. His father would have been equally proud, had he been alive to follow his son's distinguished and brilliant career. I got acquainted with ret. Brigadier General Charles R. Viale in South Korea, and it was apparent that his outstanding military and personal qualifications combined would take him very far. I lost personal contact, but have followed his career from a distance over the years, and I'll always admire him for what he stands for. M Winge-Stohr, Sofia, Bulgaria

After all these years, I've finally gotten myself a rack grade M1.  Took it apart and cleaned it, with the assistance of the CMP armorers.  Then I decided to get one of your replacement stock sets - installed it - and darn if that rack grade M1 doesn't look cherry!  Many thanks to everyone at CMP, from the order takers down to the shippers.  The definition for "customer service" is ODCMP, bar none.  I wish governments ran as efficiently as you guys do it!  Aloha.  Mike L.
