Wow,  What a great site, and source of information.  I purchased a M1 Garand without a FM and needed some info and stats about the rifle, I found more then I could hope for on your site.  Thanks for the effort to provide this information. Daniel C.

I can not put it into words of how much I appreciate the CMP and all its staff. I recently ordered two SA correct grades and one service grade. One of the correct grades had a major issue, I e-mailed the CMP customer service about this and I was instructed to send it back for a direct replacement. The replacement rifle that I received is of museum quality. I seriously doubt that it has ever been fired other than proof testing at the armory and CMP test firing it. It is the closest thing to a brand new M1 that I have ever seen. To say that I'm happy would be a gross understatement. It's very easy to understand why you don't see negative remarks about  CMP's customer service.  God Bless You All     Bob.

I've got to tell you I am IMPRESSED great people to deal with. Great service. I am overjoyed with the 03 & M 1 received so far. I have nothing but praise for the program.  Thank you  again .  Jim I .

I would like to thank all involved in your amazing program. Fast shipping, great product. I certainly got my money's worth and more. I've read a lot about USGI rifles being better in some way shape or form than the Greek issue rifles, but I decided to take a chance with the limited funding the War Dept. (wife) and the budget allows. I ordered a "Greek" rifle and was pleasantly surprised to get a serial number under 204000!!! The receiver is in AMAZING condition. My first Garand, I am very pleased. It Months of looking at M1s at shows and seeing very high prices was very discouraging. You are doing a great service for those of us who would like to shoot and not hoard the M1 rifles. My father (who won the NRA match (200 yards) at Camp Perry when he was a teenager) and I were shooting TIGHT groups at the range in my yard. Some people abuse the system, re-sell the rifles, scrounge for parts, etc. I got the rifle to shoot and enjoy a great piece of history. The "Greek" ammo already packed in enblocs, bandoleers, etc. was also a very pleasant sight. What more can be done to make a nearly perfect program? Not much. You are all wonderful at what you do and hopefully are rewarded and thanked often. Sincerely, Mike Y.

I really enjoyed the article and picture of Sgt. Dement. I know his parents and share in their pride of Lance. Wanda M.

August 15, 2006

Thanks Christine...you did a wonderful job also this summer. The "real-time" scores kept many family members at home in constant vigilance.  Neal

August 15, 2006

August 14, 2006

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to the CMP staff at the Reno show on August 11-13.  They were helpful, informative, and polite while taking care of hundreds of customers in the midst of what looked like chaos.  You are to be commended on their professionalism.  What a great program!  Carl K.

August 13, 2006

Just received filed grade M1, much, much better than described. Stock is dinged but no cracks, action, barrel and internal parts no corrosion or pitting. Have cleaned but have not had time for the range yet. estimated delivery was 60-90 days received in 30 days. Great service great quality, I hope to get a 1903 before you run out. thanks again. Gerald St.H.

August 12, 2006

I would like to extend my thanks to your staff for choosing a firearm suitable for me to give to my brother on his birthday after I finish his stock set. I had requested a possibility of obtaining a rifle which wouldn't require too much overhaul and you came to my aid with a minimal work rifle in the 3,500,000 timeframe...any closer and you would have had the date of the rifle coincide with his birthday!!! (Maybe that's what I should have requested?) Thank you again for your consideration. Elvio M.

August 12, 2006

Dear CMP,  I received my Springfield Armory M1 Garand last week and the delivery time and the quality of the rifled far exceeded my expectation. I also had a wonderful experience working with the fine folks in customer service. You are the BEST! Keep up the good work.  Best regards,  R. Joe K .

Christine, I don't know who else to write to regarding the Viale rebuild. When I first saw the new target transports on the CMP site, I said to myself "The same old junk!" When I got to camp this year I heard people talking about not being able to pass targets through the frames and how narrow the cat-walk was, blah, blah, blah.
When I finally got to the pits during squadded practice, I was pleasantly surprised. The cat-walk wasn't narrow at all and the new transports worked quite well and are very well designed. I am an engineer and machinist and I noted many great features in the new frames. These should last for another one hundred years! Good job!
Regards, Ray B.

Christine, My thanks to you and the rest of the CMP for all your hard work on the NMs. I had much fun at the pistol matches, and an outright blast at the M1 garand match. I really appreciate the can-do attitude in accomodating us in all the matches in which I shot. The walk-up squadding at the M1 match really makes it easy for me to bring newbies, share equipment and help them out. I really appreciated fewer relays and more firing points too.

May I suggest next year's shirt color for the M1 match: Light tan, or light olive... the Springfield Armory had an awsome shirt this year light olive. Pink will also work as my girls would use it as a nightshirt... but then I think you might get a lot of compaints. My dad has my neon green and orange shirts. Seniors have interesting fashion taste... but then orange makes it easier for mom to find him in a crowd.

BTW the orange shirt looked great on you ladies... but it made me look fat...

God bless you all!
Ron L.

Shannon: Please convey my thanks to all for the outstanding work you've done in the initiation of the Carbine match. Although my scores were not very good, I did enjoy the competition and the comeraderie of the other participants.

I do, however, have some comments and recommendations. The most disconcerting was the target numbering being too small and all of the same color. I dumped my second magazine during the reload on my neighbors target because I could not distinguish my number in the allotted time. I know I was not the only person with this problem. The other item was of course the ever-present Camp Perry winds. Holding the targets on with staples was not very secure and we had many targets coming apart during both the sight-in and record fire stages, especially during the rain. I would recommend pasting with rollers which could be accomplished by the targe personnel just as quickly as stapling and would be much more secure. I suffered this problem twice during both sight-in and record fire and I know others experienced it as well.

I also fired in the Springfield match and again appreciated the well run and organized manner in which it was accomplished.

Again, my thanks to all of you for the outstanding work and dedication to the shooting sports.

Dennis K.

This is a big atta-boy and/or atta-girl to the person(s) who did the timely posting of the results of the NBPRP matches last week. The scores were available to us home folks late in the evening on the day of the match, and the link was right on the front page of your web site. Thanks for a job well done. Don Frenzl MCSC (22020) and KSR&PA (22003).
P.S. By contrast the NRA took three days to post the Whistler Boy results and I had to call Fairfax for help on where to look.

August 7, 2006

I know you people worked God knows how many hours to put on a great match.

Thank you.

Gerard B.

Once again you have exceeded expectations. The M-1 Garand and M1903 Springfield were delivered in a matter of days, not weeks or months as stated. Both are in exceptionally good condition with the M-1 in inspection order right out of the box. Not only am I pleased with my purchase, I am very happy you are contributing to the preservation of the history of these fine rifles. CMS Steve P.

August 4, 2006

I received my Springfield Service Grade yesterday, much much sooner than expected and in so much better shape than I even hoped for. I am even going to leave the wood just as it is. Everyone who sees the photos gets really excited and at least two other people may be ordering soon; they were waiting to see what I received. Thanks for the wonderful experience, I plan to get another rifle and to go in on ammo with another friend that has purchased from CMP. Thanks again for everything. Robert W.

August 2, 2006

CMP, thank you! My service grade m1 is fabulous, I was amazed that it was in as good of condition as it is. I just received my 1903 and that condition was also better than expected, as always the customer service is excellent. Thank you again! Joe S.

Chris, Once again I attended the SAFS for high power rifle, and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone responsible for the event. I had a great time, it was well organized( as usual) the staff and the military at Camp Perry couldn't be nicer or more helpful. I don't know who is ultimately in charge but he or she has a lot to be proud of. A very special thanks to my instructor on the firing line, his name is
S. Kirk Freeman an ROTC Army reserve member of the Reserve shooting team from North Carolina. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and patient with an old duffer like me, that he made my day( even in the unbearable heat) If this can somehow be passed on to his officer in charge or superior I would greatly appreciate it. Once again please thank everyone for the wonderful experience.

Sincerely
David B.
