Saundra, I want to thank you and all the personnel at CMP involved with my recent purchase of an M1 Garand. The CMP customer service and communication are excellent. I received my order a few days ago and I am delighted with the quality and craftsmanship of the M1. I feel I now own a piece of history and I have renewed admiration for those who carried the M1 into battle. I am planning to have the M1 professionally restored. It will surely become a family heirloom. Thanks again. Tom D.

CMP , I want to thank you for the excellent help in getting my order together for a M1 Garand and a box of the Greek ammo. I got the ammo last week and want to let people know this is in very good condition and I am very pleased with it and the price is very competitive. My only problem I foresee is that my four grandsons run to the road every time a Fed Ex truck goes by. They are very excited about the arrival of the M1. If this excitement translates to the firing range I may need to order another box! Thanks again for the great help, Ivan J . and Grandsons , Walla Walla, WA 99362

Over the past 4 years I have purchased 5 rifles from the CMP and cannot begin to tell you how pleased I have been. The first one was a Danish return M-1 I bought that became a present for my son. It had the original 1944 dated barrel which was a real plus. Upon taking it to the range, though, the trigger group fell out on the 2nd shot. A second attempt produced the same result. You not only sent a replacement trigger group but honored my request for a milled trigger guard. With just a little work the rifle has been substantially restored to its 1944 condition.

I then ordered a Danish return M-1 rifle for myself. This one was a real gem. The VAR barrel measured "0" on a muzzle wear gauge and the weapon was very nice cosmetically. After sighting it in I put three rounds of Remington 150 gr FMJ ammo into 1 3/4" at 100 yards from the bench which is as well as I can do with any rifle with iron sights.

The next weapon was one of the Savage 44US rifles. This rifle appeared unused and is a great shooter.

When the M-1903 rifles became available I bought one of the "03A1 models.  This rifle was probably built out of parts on a 1933 manufactured Springfield Armory receiver in WWII. Parts range from 1914 to the 2nd World War. The Avis 1918 dated barrel is in fine shape and it a great shooter.

Last month I got a M-1903 rifle that I intended to put a Marine Corps sight modification kit I had gotten over the years on. I asked for a rifle sn.  between 950,000 and 1,250,000. The rifle you sent was in the high end of that range and even had the left side "Hatcher hole" which, while it is not Marine Corps provenance certainly makes it much more likely that the Marines had it at one time.

The only problem was that the "scant" style stock this rifle came in was not really the best for this type of restoration and the stock had been repaired several times by inletting. The Marine Corps did not repair cracked or broken stocks, it scrapped them. When I advised you of this I was told to return the stock. Today I received the proper finger groove "s" stock with a BRAND NEW handguard.

You people do a wonderful job. Your customer service should be the envy of any commercial retail company. Thank you so much for making these pieces of American history available at reasonable prices.

Just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with you folks. I had to call and email several times during the order process and everyone I dealt with was friendly and very helpful. My field grade M1 Garand arrived last week and has already made it's first trip to the range. I wish my father was still with us. He used to get a gleam in his eyes talking about "his" M1 and I know he would have enjoyed the chance to get his hands on one again. I will be ordering another one soon... Thank you. Phil S.

I just wanted to send a "thank you" for receiving my Kimber M82. You folks run a tight ship - you do good work. I can't remember the last time I was involved in such a seamless transaction. Again - Thanks to All of You. Art C.

Wanted to let you know that my 1942 SA Field Grade M1 arrived safely today.
It is a beautiful rifle and exactly what I wanted. The condition far exceeded what I had been led to expect. Dealing with CMP was a real pleasure, and I would like to thank everyone involved in saving this old rifle. Thanks again, Colin C. Wareham, Mass.

I served in the ROTC and 6 years in the Pa Army National Guard. I used the M1 rifle and I am interested in using one at my local gun club. I could not afford to buy one if it was not for the CMP program. Thanks Joe K.

I picked up My field grade M-1 and my M1903 @ FedEx after work yesterday, wow, the M-1 is excellent. I worked on cleaning the M1903 until after midnight and it is very nice too. The bore looks new and shiny. If it wasn't raining right now I'd be on the range instead of typing this feedback. I'm looking forward to trying out a case of the Greek ammo, Thanks CMP you've made my day. Donald T B. MMC (SW) USN (RET)

To the Men and Women of the CMP,

Before submitting my order for two 1903 Springfields, (one Remington and one Springfield) I browsed the CMP chat forums and customer to try and get an idea of the condition of the M1903s being offered. The responses were mixed but I decided to take my chances; the price was right no matter the condition. Well, about 4 weeks later the Fed X truck pulled up to my house with two boxes from the CMP. Each box contained what appeared to be a nearly unused Springfield under a generous coating of Cosmo line. I couldn't be happier and have since put in an order for a Mark 1. Many thanks to the entire CMP staff and keep up the good work. Regards, Dan .

April 19, 2006

Thanks for the great rifle. Shipping was fast and customer service was great. Today I received my first shipment of ammo, I bought a spam can of Greek, the shipping was lightning fast on the ammo (1 week) especially when you consider pretty much no one will ship ammo to Alaska!( I shoot a lot so will probably order a case every month or so!) Thanks a lot for being a first class organization and for promoting the shooting sports in a positive way.

I just wanted to thank the gang out at CMP Sales North Store for all the help you gave me yesterday while I was out there. It's folks like Debbie, Bob, George, Mike , and Pee Wee that gives me great pleasure to buy rifles and Ammunition off of the CMP.  It's Folks like you that keep the CMP going strong!!!!! It sure was worth the 600 and some mile round trip that my Father ,Uncle, Friend Kris and I went on to come out to the North Store. We all had a great time with the gang.

I cleaned one of the two Field Grade Greek Issue M1's that I got today. As soon as I was done, I took it up to the range and tried it out. It shot wonderful and everyone that looked at it, thought it was great looking. I'm looking forward to cleaning the other one up soon and getting it ready for the range next trip. Also the Greek ammunition shoots great.  Nice clean ammo and a really good price. Thanks again Gang for letting Veterans like me and others to be able to purchase M1 Garands through the CMP. I'll be looking forward to having a lot of fun shooting those Old Battlefield M1 Garands over the years to come. Your Friend Always Bob D .Altoona, Pa.

Received my Greek SA Service Grade rifle Monday. Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you all how pleased I am with the rifle. This is a WW2 rifle that appears to have been rebuilt and hardly fired after the rebuild. The barrel looks new and the rifle functions flawlessly. I also bought a case of your excellent Greek ammo in clips. This ammo is the best bargain in M1 ammo. Thanks!! Scott B.

April 4, 2006

Always wanting to retire my very worn Garand for the CMP matches I just received a wonderful Service Grade Garand.  I could not be more happy.  The previous Springfield 1903 I received shoots like a dream.  To shoot, compete,  and own a piece of history is priceless.    RE. Michigan

April 03, 2006

To all the CMP Staff,

I received my Correct Grade Greek M-1 Garand this past Friday and had already received a case of the Greek ammunition packed in the 8 round clips. I opened the box in the presence of my step father who carried M-1 Garands in both WW II and Korea, you should have seen the look on his face. He picked it up and handled it as if the past 50 years hadn't existed. The stories started flowing.

I got up at 5:30 am Saturday and began cleaning the rifle and couldn't believe the condition it was in, it looked like a brand new gun, yeah there were a few dings on the wood, but mechanically she was perfect to my eye. Needless to say, Sunday afternoon found us at the local range where we proceeded to burn up some of that ammo, both rifle and ammo performed flawlessly. A few people came over to see her and we let them fire off a clip, after which I presented them with the spent clip as a souvenir, that was really appreciated.

I was very pleased with the purchasing process and the ability to check the status of orders on-line. I will be buying more items in the future. The shipping package was more than adequate and I think the Priority shipping method is a great idea. Congratulations on a fine system and thanks for saving pieces of history and getting them out to those who can appreciate it. Bob B .Queensbury, NY
