My "Greek" M-1 Garand was hand delivered to my door on the 20th and,
after signing for it, I opened the box. I was greatly surprised, relieved and
pleased all at the same time. It was better than I expected. As soon as
the weather cooperates I'll take it to the range and get that
"itch" out of my system. Then I'll get it in presentable order.
Can't wait for the impending Carbine info to come out. Carried one of them
too. Please keep up the friendly interface with your customers. I
know you're all busy and I do appreciate the considerate attention to my
questions. Thanks, Don H. (Colorado)

To All CMP Staff Personnel :
In the past I have purchased several M-1 Garands, giving one
each to my three boys and instruction on safety, function and shooting. Every
one I received was in beautiful condition.
I also purchased a Remington 1903 and an 03A3. They both look as
if unissued. The 1903 is so accurate, I took out a female fly at 100 yds.
( just joking...It was her husband at 150) Can't wait for the carbines to
go on sale. Thanks to all for making it possible for American citizens to own
and enjoy these excellent rifles.
I have a question to ask related to the M-1 Garand. How long
before the supply you have on hand runs out??? done, finished, no more, all
gone. For sure that would be a sad day for all.
Would you be able to answer that?
Again, Thanks to all Bob

Just received my Greek Issue M1 Field Grade. What a beautiful rifle. Don't
know why it is called a "Greek" issue as no souflaki came with it.
LOL. What a great rifle. Can't wait to get a Garand. Thanks CMP for a
treasure. Regards. Richard W. S .
February 18, 2007Just read your article on M1 .30 Cal Carbine accuracy. EXCELLENT!! I'd say it is 'must reading' for any serious Carbine owner/shooter. Thanks, and keep on doin' what you're doin'. gr February 15, 2007I started going to your Anniston Store in December 06 your friendly, personable and very helpful staff make it a memorable and enjoyable experience each time I go. I thank you for your service your well chosen personnel and the opportunity to collect some historic rifles and since I live just 40 miles away Ill see yall soon and thanks alot Barney K. Georgia February 15, 2007I just had one of the best experiences of my life. Went to the store in Anniston AL. and bought a correct grade garand. The staff , well they were great!!!. So helpful, even my wife enjoyed the trip. I will return and support this store for the rest of my life. I cannot say enough about the service. everyone in the store was very professional can't wait to return. Thanks again to a very happy boy. Danny A., Rome GA. February 13, 2007Thanks to all the CMP Sales Crew! My Greek M1 Garand arrived safely and looks great! I requested a "shooter" and the rifle you all picked out is perfect for me. It's barrel, sights, and receiver are nice enough for a beginner like me to shoot without swapping out parts. The Greek replacement stock lets me refinish it without any worrying any collectors. After having this working piece of history for only a day, I can see why some people have such huge collections of these rifles. This was my first CMP purchase and I was pleased with the level of communications on what was happening with my order. The packaging and product information were very professional and the certificate was a nice touch. I can hardly wait to hear the news about the carbines! George H. February 9, 2007I recently received the M1903 I ordered and to say that it met my expectations is an understatement. This is the second rifle I have obtained through the CMP and they are both excellent weapons. Even the armorer I had check it out was impressed with the state of the weapons. Thanks for providing a novice collector like me the opportunity to have such beautiful weapons that relate directly to world shaping events. Can't wait to see what Carbines become available. I'll have to get one of those too. Ivan G. February 1, 2007
Dear CMP,
Thank you so much for doing what you do. I have loved and been
fascinated with the weapons of the World War Two era since I was a boy.
I have had a CMP M-1 Garand that was sold to me by a friend for years.
Since the supply of the M-1s, seems to be dwindling I ordered 2 field grade
M-1s from you myself. The rifles took about 6 weeks to get to me and I
could not be happier. The rifles are both in good shape. I have
"restored" one by cleaning all the metal parts and relubricating
them properly. I also cleaned and re-oiled the stock with tung oil. You
should see it now! I had the head space, throat and barrel erosion
checked by a gunsmith. The barrel on this rifle is essentially new,
with 0 barrel and 2 /12 throat erosion. Not bad for being made in
1943, no matter how you look at it. Thank you again for your hard work.
I look forward to getting an M-1 carbine or two when they are ready.
Save one for me will ya? Would you please consider a suggestion from me
as well? Please take some pictures of the M-1 Carbines in various states from
crate to ready to ship status and post them on the web pages? I am sure
I am not the only one who would love to see a crate of WWII rifles as they
were received by you. What a treasure!
Sincerely,
Martin V .
