Today I received my latest purchase of a 1903 and 1903A3. Both are in beautiful condition with hardly a mark on them. As usual the condition received is MUCH better than the condition advertised. Again, thank you for your great service. We are preserving history through your program. CMS Steve P. USAF, (ret)

Dear Sir, This is just a small note to let you folks know what a fine job your doing. I'm aware that some feedback may be negative, but rest assured this one is NOT.!!! I sent off my request for a Greek M-1 service grade Garand and the one you sent me was a beauty. The wood showed the requisite amount of dings and marks of a issued weapon. After a careful cleaning and inspection, I ventured out to my local range and put some Lake City M-2 ball ammo down range. After getting the zero set where I wanted I put 40 rounds into targets for a score and was amazed with the results. I was able to hold 1.5 moa in prone with a NM sling and a consistent 2 moa in both sitting and off hand. The trigger was a tad stiff breaking at 8 pounds but some work with emery cloth put that small detail back at a very clean 5 pounds. We are holding a Garand Match and Clinic in March at our club and the new Garand will be there competing with the Danish version. I'm looking for many years of fun shooting with both rifles. It was really cool to be able to receive 2 such marvalous pieces of history from one place. I have 4 brothers in my family and we all have Garands. Now to just get our schedules to mesh at the time of the National Matches, then we'll have our own team. Thanks again for all your efforts. Sincerly, Michael V. L.          P. S. The last rifle was a present to myself for 7 months overseas. Not a bad trade

I was very happy to make my purchase at your north store on 12/8/2006. I appreciate keeping the store open as my brother and I had 5-10 minutes to spare. My greek rack grade shoots great and I would not hesitate to make a purchase in the near future; maybe one of those garands...Thanks again, LT

NOT IMPRESSED with your service. Processing/Shipping time is TO long. E-store account is not user friendly in updating personal information (address). Special Instructions provided in remarks for online orders are IGNORED. Customer service via phone was sub-standard (not to mention rude). You still have my address wrong and you just shipped my ammunition! I provided correct address online & in special shipping instructions & over the phone a week ago. You STILL got it wrong. I'm interested in where my ammunition will end up. Terrible experience, nothing but frustration. I'm taking my business elsewhere next time and will be sending a note to the Army (whom I happen to work for). Robert K. VA.

I had Christmas in January. I received my USGI Field Grade M1 on the 15th, and my Chromed and Painted M1903 yesterday. Both guns exceeded my expectations. Thanks for allowing us "regular folks" to be able to own these historic weapons.   Randy G.

I would just like to thank you for all that you have done to help. Buying an 03 and an M1 you were able to fix any problems I had with the rifles. They're a pleasure to shoot. Thank you. Sincerely, Rob K.

I'm very proud of all the effort that the CMP puts into their rifle sales. Purchased two M1 Grands and 1903. Each one of these rifles gives me so proud in this country, what it really stands. Just the thought of a soldier giving their life while carrying one these weapons.  Again, I thank CMP so much for their support and dedication for this program. Gregory M .

Hello I just wanted to thank you for your fast service. I ordered a Remington 40 X HB on the 9th on Jan, and It arrived this morning on the 21st. The rifle is in great condition, A little stock work will make it perfect. This is my 6th rifle from DCM/CMP I have yet to be disappointed again thanks Ron.

My 12 year old son and I took a ride to CMP North on January 13 and bought a nice field grade Garand & a Smith Corona 1903 A3. It was our first time at the CMP and really enjoyed the day. I'd like to thank the nice people who help with the purchase. Cleaned the guns and headed to the range on Jan 21st and sighted them in. Boy was my little guy fired up to shoot'em. They shoot great with the Lake City ammo we got from the CMP.  Again thanks for all the help.  Joe Z & Joe Jr.

Dear Sirs,  I received my M1 Garand within the last 2 weeks. My first impression was this thing is "Butt Ugly". The stocks did not come close to matching, the worst being the butt stock which I refer to now as the "Black Knight". Upon examining the metal parts I found it was in great shape, TE of about 3 and a bright and crisp bore. No rust, no pitting and very little finish wear on the receiver and barrel. A lot of TLC on the stock and some replacement parts and this Garand is now a Swan. If I could afford it I would come back and buy another. The best experience I have ever had with a company that owes it existence to the U.S. Government!  Keep on Rockin!!!!   Mike  K.

The garands arrived for our club today. Thanks for quick delivery. The rifles look good. They'll be on the range Saturday. Tom W.

I received my field grade M1 Garand rifle some days ago. The wood was darker than scores before that I have seen, which surprised me. Upon closer inspection, the wood was without significant blemishes...a slight hairline crack in the forend, the occasional ding, etc. The barrel was without crown knicks, the rifling sharp and clean. As always when I receive a "new" rifle, I fully disassembled the rifle and cleaned it first thing, then I took it to the range. The rifle fired without a hitch. I thank the CMP for offering their rifles to people like me who could not otherwise afford such a piece (military pay is rock steady but thin). The salespeople with whom I conducted business with in South Store were courteous, personable and prompt. I hope to do business with the CMP in the future. Very Respectfully, Nicholas C.

Just a quick note to say how impressed I was with the Remington 1903-Modified rifle I received last year.  My wife's assessment was accurate: "EEEW, That thing looks like it went through a war.  Its dirty, greasy and smells."  But with a lot of TLC and a replacement rear sight assembly (missing upon receipt), it now looks like the honored veteran it is and shoots 1.25" groups at 100 yards with CMP Lake City ammunition.  By the way, all but one part has the correct Remington "R" stamped on it.  And that one I can easily replace at local gun shows.  I'm coming back for a carbine in march.  Gerald  W

Thanks all you lovely ladies at CMP. I was just delivered a Field Grade M-1 and WOW,,, Have been cleaning it all morning and oh what memories. Made in 1944, Walnut wood through out and worn enough to know it has been used. I could not be more pleased. Thanks for all your help and for providing such a service. John H.

I wanted to thank all of you for the outstanding service you offer. While I realize that the forums are a breeding ground for ignorant comments and selfish rants, I hope that the voices of a few do not alter your resolve. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you, participating in your events, and enjoying the products that you offer. Keep up the good fight, and if you ever get beaten down by the masses, do know that most of us support you. Thank you again, Jeff K.

I would like to say that the staff in Anniston were extremely helpful in my search for a Garand that would be a great shooter.  While I am familiar with the M-16 and the M-14 because of my army training, this was going to be my first time with a M1.  We found a great field grade M1 that was part of the Greek returns after searching through all the Garands on the floor.  This rifle had minimal erosion at the throat and bore and had most of its original finish.  We guessed that the only reason that it was classified as a field grade was because of the dark, dinged wood with some repairs.  Well after a complete cleaning and a replacement butt stock from a friend, we took it shooting with the Greek surplus ammo (also obtained from CMP at Anniston ).  After setting the rifle to zero, it hits where it is aimed and functions flawlessly.  I really treasure this piece of American History.  I look forward to another drive to Anniston and the adventure of finding another gem.  Thank you, David D., GA

Hi & Happy New Year, Thanks. I greatly appricate you sending me serial # range I requested. I reluctantly asked, since I do beleive purchase request should be custom, but I feel custom is what you did, I am sure with great effort. Since my parts I have put together over years are within the same # range it makes my assembly possible. I could not afford purchasing other parts. Based on you service I now have multi work bench projects and hope to add another, that keep my happyly busy. Again many thanks for your service. Best Regards Carl J.S.

I have purchased two M1 Grands and one 1903. Each one of the weapons fires with excellent accuracy. I have received tons of WOW's from my friends and complete strangers. Ian very proud of my rifles, I have used in Masonic ceremonies, American flag DAY and for family fun and recreation.  Thank you CMP for allowing us the privilege own a apiece of OUR AMERICAN HISTORY. January 8, 2007

Just a quick note of appreciation to Gloria & Melissa who I spoke with by phone on 08 Jan 2007. My 2006 National Match Results Booklet was torn to shreds by the postal service & all that was left was the front & back covers. I requested another copy which they said would be no problem at all. Also, my one year old grandson got hold of my Distinguished Rifleman Certificate and destroyed it. They graciously stated they would replace that too altough it was my fault that it was destroyed. Their service was quick and friendly which is rare these days. I expected nothing less as the CMP has always been very customer oriented since I have been dealing with them since 1998. Keep up the good work! Wallace M. - Texas

Happy New Year, I finally got a chance to go out and shoot my Kimber Government Model 82 rifle, which I purchased from you late last year. The rifle arrived in pristine condition, and shoots far beyond my ability. I plan to spend this year practicing, practicing, practicing and practicing some more. I can't believe how accurate it is. Amazing value for the money. Thanks! --Matt S.

January 3, 2007

I was finally able to get out and use the 30-06 ammo you sold me. Great stuff / no misfires and good brass. It fed well through the M-1 Garand I got from you earlier in the year. By the way, what a nice rifle, it was so much better than I expected. Thanks a bunch. Steve A.

January 2, 2007

This is a way-overdue note of thanks. I ordered two 1903 Mark-1 rifles. They arrived quickly. One rifle had a broken sight elevator. I sent CMP an email, and received replacement sight parts very quickly. Great products and service! Richard C.
