CMP Home Page '04 Feedback '05 Feedback '06 Feedback '07 FeedbackJAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEPT OCT NOV DEC July 31, 2007A couple of months ago I visited CMP. I was disappointed to find that there weren't any Garands for sale, but bought a receiver and three cases of ammunition. I wanted to thank you for your generosity of time and attention to me while I was at CMP. I had the sense that CMP employs some extraordinarily decent people. It was fun to come there, but you guys were really great to me and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated it. Thanks, David B. July 30,2007
I received a very good rifle. The stock was not in bad shape but I wanted
a better looking Rifle, so I decided to rebuild it. I ordered a new stock
through the CMP and refinished it myself. I hand rubbed the stock. The Rifle
had a few pits on the receiver but these were easily ground out with a high
speed small hand held grinder. After that I used a small hand held
sandblaster. I used a special coating designed for camouflage of firearms that
I purchased from Grizzly Industrial. I used the color "Parker". It
looks like the fine patina of a well preserved M1 Garand. It is hard to tell
from a new M1 Garand. If you wan more on this contact me at [drwills_1@msn.com],
I would be glad to help you with the restoration.

Dear Sirs:
I can't express my appreciation for a very fine rifle in this M1 Carbine which
I received this week. I have purchased other rifles from CMP (M1 Garand,
1903 Springfield) which have been fine rifles that were in great shape and
shoot well, but this M1 Carbine is absolutely fantastic! As best I can
tell, it is in great mechanical shape. Bore is bright and clear (in
fact, I don't see any wear/erosion or pitting - looks brand new)! Muzzle
crown is nice and even, no dings or evidence of cleaning rod mishaps.
The action seems nice and tight. Trigger pull is standard USGI and
internal parts show no wear at all. Looks like this rifle was
hardly ever fired. After cleaning and inspection, I took it to the range
and it performed flawlessly. Thank you CMP!

July 13, 2007I completed the pistol school last Tuesday and I wanted to say that I have never been treated so kindly, courtesly, patiently and professionally as I was by everyone on your staff. I told Samantha how much I appreciated her kindness but I wanted all of you know what a pleasant experience the whole two days proved to be. I think I learned a lot and I hope to return to many more schools in the future. Thank you very much, Thomas W . July 12, 2007Hello, I
recently purchased an MI Garand, my first from CMP, and i am thoroughly
satisifiied with the condition of the weapon that i received. There were dents
and scratches on the wood but acceptable. The receiver had no rust pitting at
all, the parkerizing was still good, and there was still some shine in the bore.
My rifle was put to the test firing blank ammo at military ceremonies and
funerals, and performs perfectly. Many thanks. RDS USN RET July 12, 2007

case of Lake City 30-06 arrived recently and I'm very pleased. I missed the
Inland sale but hope to receive a carbine in September. John in Fairbanks, AK

July 11, 2007Gents - My much anticipated, eagerly awaited M1 Carbine arrived yesterday! It looks to be in very good shape. I have been wanted this small piece of history for about as long as I can remember. Getting this little gem was one of my daydreams while back in Iraq this past year. Now that I am retired from the reserves I will finally be able to spend a lot of quality time at the range with my CMP Garand, Springfield and now the Carbine, my latest adoption. Thank you for providing these fine specimens of working history for all Americans to enjoy and hone their shooting skills on. Dan M . Col., USMCR (retired) July 9, 2007My Inland carbine arrived today and I am very pleased. It looks as if it was hand selected - very good used stock, metal very good: evidently recently reblued blue or just new, perfect bore. Even my wife loved it! Thanks for the prompt and professional service as usual. I have never been disappointed with the CMP! Pass it on. AB D . July 8, 2007CMP: I should have written sooner. I ordered and received an M1 Garand in 2006, and just recieved an M1 Carbine. Both are excellent firearms, a great piece of history and a joy to shoot. I am now using them in local matches. I have wanted both the Garand and the Carbine for over 40 years, even as a young boy looking through magazines. I could not be more pleased. CMP,
I received my M1 Carbine yesterday morning and it is so much nicer than I
imagined. It looks as if it has never been fired and has no scratches of
any kind that I can see on the metal. The stock is in good condition
with a worn finish with only two small "dings". This is an
excellent piece of history that will be cherished in my family for generations
to come. I want to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the
Civilian Marksmanship Program personnel! You have the best job in
this country! Sincerely,
Phillip G. C .

Thanks to all, I
just received my Inland carbine today. I have made several purchases since
October 2006 and every one has been great. I know the carbine deal has been a
strain and some people have been a little impatient. Thanks for your smiles
and wonderful attitude.

July 3, 2007Dear CMP Staff, Thanks so very much, I received my M1 receiver today and was just totally impressed. 1 1/2 hours out of the box barrel installed and indexed 2 1/2 hours out of the box assembled and ready to fire. Thanks so very much. David S. July 2, 2007
To everyone at CMP: My Inland carbine arrived today, and I want to thank
you for a very nice late war carbine. Had I been able to hand pick
a carbine I probably could not have done any better than the one which came
today. Only 2 parts are not late war Inland, so this is an interesting
early 1945 serial # carbine. Thanks also for the very
professional way in which you all do business. My best wishes to
everyone at CMP. Thanks, Dave H .

I received my very first order
from you last Thursday, June 28th. It was item number 415. Of
course, I had to open one of the cans to see what condition it was in, and I
really wasn't surprised that it was nice and clean with very few blemishes.
I took some of it to the range this past Sunday, 7-1, and it
shoots very good in my 1903A1. I'm glad to hear that the HXP Greek stuff
will be available for the next few years. I plan on ordering more when I
run low again. Ted
