I received my Underwood Carbine and My M1 Garand CMP Special Rifle, the M1 is beautiful it has all new parts looks like it just came off the assembly line, the Carbine had a feeding problem, I called CMP customer service and they were very accommodating and made arrangements for me to send it back for repair. In a couple of days CMP had it back in my possession CMP replaced the bolt and trigger housing and now it works perfectly, thanks for a job well done. It is exciting to have in my possession a piece of history. Thanks,   W. Tommy H .

I received my rifle, and all I can say is WOW!. Having served in WW2 and having trained with the M1 Garand, it has always been my favorite rifle. I am a Firearms Dealer, so I have seen many to compare it with, This rifle is a Gem that I and my Grandson and his sons and maybe theirs will cherish forever. Just a quick note to let you know how impressed I am with my M1 Special. After waiting just over 5 weeks, it arrived and on opening the box I knew I had something "special". It looked new, and at the range it shot as good as it looked. Flawless. This is the M1 Garand I've always dreamed of. After several purchases (including a Carbine that also exceeded my expectations), I must say how impressed I am with your customer service and end product. A rare quality these days. Thank you CMP!!! Dear Sir:  I don’t often leave customer feedback for items that I purchase, but after receiving my M1 Garand yesterday I really felt the need to drop you guys quick thank you. I was very pleased with the 1903 Springfield that I ordered from CMP last year, but the CMP Select M1 Garand I received yesterday, quite simply, knocked my socks off! From my previous order I expected that my M1 would be in good condition, what I did not expect was that it would look as good as it must have looked when it first rolled off the production line. It is absolutely pristine and it is the most mechanically sound M1 that I have seen yet! Thank you for helping to keep the shooting sports alive, and for helping keep this countries proud military heritage alive. Orest, This message falls into the category, “Don’t’ tell me, tell my boss”.  Rather than my telling Lynne and John what a great job they are doing, I thought I’d go straight to you.  I had some difficulties with a recently received Special Grade Garand.  Through a series of emails, both John Mclean and Lynne Williams professionally and courteously provided assistance and guidance.  When I thought I was being “talked down to”, Lynne & John both took great pains to assure me that this wasn’t the case.  Upon reflection, I realize that I was being a bit huffy and didn’t really deserve the courtesy and consideration they demonstrated.  But, in the tradition of CMP’s outstanding customer service, they treated the customer as if he were right, when in reality that wasn’t the case.  And the problem got solved, too. You’ve got some fine people working for you.  Makes the job really easy, doesn’t it? Regards, Bill S.

I just received my CMP Special M1 and I had tears in my eyes.  You see I bought this rifle for my 77 year old father who is a former US Marine and shot high score in his company with an M1 Garand.  I will put the picture of him as that young Marine leaning on his M1 inside the case.  Thank you so very much for this chance of a lifetime for me to give something so very special to my father.  Semper Fi, Tom H . Fontana,WI

Well, I now have received my M1 Carbine and my M1 Garand. After receiving the Garand Select, I see that I have some stock refinishing to do on my Carbine. I can't tell you how pleased I am with these rifles, the super service from you and the prices. I have wanted these rifles for a number of years, but the family comes first until they are grown. Dear CMP; I just received my M1 Garand CMP Special Rifle ... WOW WOW WOW! Holy Smokes! Your tech's did a wonderful job on this rifle, please convey my gratitude to all involved. A serial number search indicates that its an August 1943 rifle, and it looks like it just came out of the factory yesterday. I will definitely be watching to see if you offer up these models again. Heck I would even send in my other service grade CMP M1 to be rebuilt in a heartbeat if you ever decide to offer the service. Thanks again for the super rifle. Craig A.

Got my M1 Carbine with out any problems at all,  Took it out today and found it to shoot very well, Its also in good shape.  This is the 2nd rifle I have received from the DCM the other been a M1 both were received with no problems, Both are fun to shoot.  Thanks:    Don

Dear CMP:  I purchased a M1D Field Grade some weeks ago.  I am very pleased with the quality of this M1D.  Field Grades are categorized as "good."  Well, this rifle was well beyond good.  I would say that the M1D I received was almost Collector Grade.  It even had the correct stock for the rifle.  I can't imagine what the same rifle would have cost from a dealer's table.  Thank you CMP!  PS:  The standard of customer service has always been excellent.

My M-1 carbine arrived two weeks ago and I am quite impressed with it.  Overall condition is great and better than I expected.   I am currently refinishing the stock with Formby's furniture refinisher and 0000 steel wool.   Once the stock is clean, several coats of linseed oil should do it.   I haven't shot it yet.  I will let you know the results of that when I shoot it.  Thanks for your great service!  Elliott

I have now received 2 orders of the Greek HXP 30-06 ammo and I could not be more satisfied. It is bright and shiny, looks well made - better than much of the earlier surplus stuff from other sources. Now I can shoot my old 1903's more! Thanks for all you do. Don E.

Hi.CMP. I Received my Underwood M1 Carbine today and I have to say that I was surprised. The Carbine is in excellent condition( considering the age) with a very shiny bore and the MW is only 1 3/4 on my gauge. I have not been disappointed in my previous purchases and I will continue to buy carbines as they are offered. Fast delivery and a quality staff! Keep up the great work, Mark S.

Judy, I was just going thru some of my old e-mails and found our exchanges regarding the M-1 Garand order I had placed with CMP this past February. My initial order was for USGI, but when you ran out of those I was offer a MAP Garand. I received it about 45 days ago and just want to express my thanks to CMP, thru you. I am very pleased with the rifle. The wood is good, the bore is good, the receiver is WWII (Feb 43) and the barrel is SA 53 (Korean War). This is a great memento of my father's service in Europe, from D-Day to the end of the war. Once again, Thank You to CMP for providing the opportunity to still get to own this piece of history, this late in the game. James C. M.

Dear CMP:  I just received the Underwood M-1 Carbine I purchased through your program yesterday, and wanted to thank you for all your assistance. The care you took in packing the rifle is much appreciated – it arrived in great shape.  I was surprised at the overall condition of the weapon – it appears to be in very good shape, with only a very minor gouge on the stock. Even through the cosmoline, the finish also appears to be in great condition.  Early in my Law Enforcement career, I worked for a Police Department that had four carbines: 2 M-1’s and 2 M-2’s. I, more or less, gained a real appreciation for the weapon and enjoyed shooting it, tremendously. Ever since then, I’d always wanted one for my collection and CMP has helped to make that happen.  Thank you, again, for all your help. I ordered a Remington 40X in early January .  Heard nothing for about three months, then got an email that indicated these were sold out.  However, the note also asked if I wanted to keep the order alive ( back-ordered ) .  Nothing to lose.    The last week in September, I received an email that the rifle was shipped !   Received the rifle the next day.   It cleaned up well and functions perfectly.  Thanks for your attention to "old orders".   Jon B. ,   Dallas, Texas

My can of Greek 30-06 ammo arrived today.  Again, as usual, you provided excellent service.  I mailed my order on 8 September and received the ammo just 32 days later.  Considering how busy you must be with all the carbine and garand orders you still are able to ship an order 25 days from the day I mailed it!  If anyone was a little slow this time it was FedEx.  Thanks again for a great program and great service.  Ed L .

I placed my order for an M1 Garand by mailing my forms to you guys on August 30th 2007. I was anticipating that it would be at least 2 months before I would receive my rifle. I had the rifle delivered in 3 weeks! You guys are on the ball! The rifle was in very good condition and I can’t wait to shoot it!  As a former U S Marine and career Law Enforcement Officer I really appreciate an organization that goes above and beyond in customer service and satisfaction. Another satisfying experience with the folks at CMP. I received my Underwood carbine today and, with minor exceptions, it is in quite good condition considering it's a year older than me. After breaking it down and checking it out, I realized the stock has two cracks BUT the stock is a potbelly so I figure I'll  simply repair it and continue being satisfied and happy.  My wife asked me how many more do I need; I just gave a little s/e grin.  HELLO C.M.P.  THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MY RECENT ORDER OF A SERVICE GRADE UNDERWOOD CARBINE SER.#1440042. I WASN'T SURE JUST WHAT TO EXPECT TO SEE WHEN I OPENED UP THE BOX. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING YOUR DESCRIPTION IN THE ARTICLE AND BEING A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER I WAS READY FOR ANYTHING. WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE. IT IS A PERFECT SPECIMEN OF A U.S.G.I. SERVICE RIFLE. AFTER GOING OVER IT I WAS PLEASED TO FIND THAT IT WAS IN OVERALL GREAT CONDITION. THE METAL FINISH WAS UNIFORM WITH NO BARE SPOTS. THE STOCK IS UNIFORM IN COLOR AND APPEARANCE AND HAS NO DEEP GOUGES OR BARE WOOD EXPOSED. THE BORE IS SPOTLESS AND THE LANDS & GROOVES ARE SHARP WITH NO SIGNS OF WEAR ON THE MUZZLE OR CHAMBER AREAS. I MEAN COME ON! ANYBODY WOULD OF PROBABLY DROPPED AN EASY $700.00 ON THIS ONE AT A GUN SHOP. BETTER YET IT FEELS TIGHT I THINK THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE A GOOD SHOOTER. To whom it may concern,  Thank you so much for the beautiful Garands and Inland carbine you recently sent to me.   The Garands shoot very well, and the quality of both guns is outstanding.   The Inland is coming along, lots of cosmoline, but it's a beauty as well, I can't wait to shoot it. I emailed last week concerned about delivery of the Inland. I received a very prompt reply the next morning explaining (very nicely) that I had inadvertently gummed up the works but the shipment would be expedited. The rifle arrived that afternoon! Unbelievable! How do you do that? Can you come to where I work and teach our employees how you do it (great customer service & prompt service)? Thank you so much. I received my Underwood carbine today (10/1) and I couldn't be happier.  Excellent  rifle. I would grade it 95 to 98 % overall.  Excellent service in a timely manner makes it 110% in my book!  Better than I hoped for. I would like to personally thank all of the CMP employees for a job well done.  I look forward to the next round of sales in January and hope I can get in then.  So until then may you all have happy and safe holiday season and may God bless you all.  Thanks again,  David S
