Customer Comments/FeedbackThe CMP receives many emails and letters each day from our customers saying how much they appreciate what the CMP does. We have decided to share some of these letters with you. Please feel free to submit your letters and comments to us at coo@odcmp.com. CMP Home Page '04 Feedback '05 Feedback '06 Feedback '07 FeedbackJAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEPT OCT NOV DEC September 28, 2007I, too, was a little concerned about the length of time it takes for CMP to process orders; until I obtained some figures and did the math. The small team of good people at the CMP process literally thousands of firearms and do so at, sometimes, more than 500 transactions a day. That figure alone is more than most small businesses handle each day. In simple words...they work hard and are quite busy. I have also communicated with the folks at CMP and find they have always been courteous and friendly; to courteous and friendly inquiries. It works two ways. There is an old addage, "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar". So, send your notes to the Army, and continue to work with the people at CMP to resolve issues at hand. They are and will do their best to resolve all issues but be polite and be patient. Dave, USMC, WA September 27, 2007Dear Sharron and all the staff of the south CMP store, I received my carbine this morning and I am very happy with what I received. One of the reasons I ordered a carbine is that it was the weapon my father carried in WWII and what I carried as a young naval officer serving with a Philippine navy unit as an advisor in the 1970's. thank you again for all that you did to help get the mistake straightened out. John S . September 26, 2007I just got my M1 carbine today. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care !!!! Joe D .
Sheboygan, Wisconsin September 25, 2007I made a mistake when I sent in for an Underwood M-1
Carbine, but the Ladies of Customer Service saved the day…special thanks to
Lynn Williams for bailing me out of my “mistake” Kevin K .

First, I want to thank you folks for great job you are doing. There is no
better gift to own part of our American History. If these weapon could only
talk. I am sure their story's would open your eyes to the dedication Americans
give to this country. Most, Americans and I am talking about myself, live in
a pretty great place. Its a gift to be born in this country and be an
American. Your dedication as part of CMP gives the Americans the chance to
show generations to come what the price our service members give to allow us
to be an American. Bottom line I am very proud of you guys, which I could
see more pictures of your working tools or process of your carbines. Thank you
CMP and to the American who wear the uniform. Greg M .

Dear CMP, once again you have exceeded my expectations! The Grade B receiver
was outstanding An added bonus was the 5 digit receiver. I have been
looking for over two years for a receiver with 5 digits, but never saw
one in a condition I could accept. Until today!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Felt like a little kid at Christmas time.
Sincerely,

We're having our rifles shipped, so it will be like Christmas when they get here. Thanks, Bobby B. September 20, 2007
Hello
Sir: Very often we are quick to vent
our displeasure when we don’t get the quality or service we believe we
deserve. That’s fine, as long as we also give praise when it is due.
I just received my second garand rifle from CMP today. It is one of the
new CMP Specials, and I am very pleased with it, and the efficient and timely
manner in which it was processed. I had ordered a service grade, but changed
the order at the last minute. Everyone involved was very nice and it got
processed without a hitch. Theodore
Roosevelt would be proud of you guys! Thank
you. Michael M .

September 17, 2007Dear CMP, I just wanted to write a quick note of thanks to all of you, and especially to Cassie Callaway for her quick and friendly response. You have all gone above and beyond with every order I have ever placed. From reading the forums, this is the case with all of your customers. I have been a customer since 2004, and have placed several orders over the years, and have never been disappointed. The CMP has always been a top notch organization from my experience, and each one of you make it that way. Keep up the great work, and Thanks Again! Sincerely, Tim D . September 17, 2007
I received my Service Grade Garand last Monday, September 10th, less than one
month from the date I mailed my order. Had one problem, the safety
didn't function properly. An email to Lynne Williams (Customer
Service) and a quick reply from John Mclean, Armorer directed me to return
the trigger group for a repair. I mailed the group on September
11th and today, one week later, I received a NEW trigger group. What a great
response! Everything fits and works just fine. This is the 3rd
rifle I've order from you in the past year or so and each time you've come
through like champs. I have a great looking rifle with very little wear on the
metal and what seems to be an almost new stock with just a few minor dings.
Tomorrow I'll find out how it shoots but really, It has a great bore and
everything is tight so I expect it will hit where I aim. Once again,
thank you all for operating a great program and special thanks again
to Lynne and John. Sincerely,
Ed L . CMSGt, USAF,

September 17, 2007Good Morning, I have just received my M-1 Carbine and WOW. I can't believe the GREAT condition it is in. Others have seen it and say the same thing. I have been offered Twice what you ask for. This is a GREAT addition to my collection. THANKS, Bob . September 13, 2007T o the CMP Program: My husband ordered a M1 Grand from you for competition and we have received it. The M1 Grand is in really good shape, we appreciate that you took time to pick us a gun that was in such good shape. Thanks again for having this program for us because we couldn't have brought it any other way. Thanks, again. Lynn & Linda L . Glendive, MT . September 12, 2007
I just received my can of M-1 ammo and couldn't be more happy. For the
price I paid for it, it was worth every penny. And the staff was very
helpful getting me started in the purchasing process. Only five day
delivery isn't that bad for the price of the ammo. Thank you again for
providing such a great service to us retired police and military.
Consider me a very satisfied and long lasting happy customer. Special
thanks to Cassie. CMP Member Nick D .,

Christine keep up the good work on the Newsletter!!!

I received my M1 carbine last week! Unfortunately with a broken rear sight. I
called customer service and a new rear sight was sent immediately with an
apology. When I received the new sight I called technical service for advice
on procedure for removing the old sight and installing the new one. The
technician was very helpful. He advised me to place the receiver in a vise
between 2 blocks of wood and drive the broken sight out of the dovetail, left
to right, using a punch. I made the mistake of starting with a drift punch. It
slipped and made a small "shiner" thru the parkerized finish on the
receiver. This was my fault for not following instructions. I switched to a
center punch, as advised by the technician, and the removal went as planned.
The technician advised me to use a brass punch to drive the new sight into
place and prevent scarring it. I could not find a brass punch but did find a
3/16" x 36" brass rod for $3.49 at Menard's. I used a 6" length
of 1" x 4" oak to get the sight almost in place, and then a 6"
length of brass rod in place of a punch to get it exactly where I wanted it.
Hopefully this will help someone in the future when performing the same task.
Thank you CMP for having such a wonderful group of people on
your staff!

CMP and the Garand that I bought is super.I only wish I could have purchased
two at the time, but thanks to your great work. I am now waiting for the
delivery of another Garand. I can only hope this one is as good or better than
my first Garand. Keep up the good work and will let you know how the one I am
