Amazing. I wasn't expecting it for at least a month. Also what is amazing is the condition of the rifle. I couldn't believe how great it is. The metal is near perfect and the stock has very few minor marks on it and the color is even. There is very little evidence of wear considering the age of the rifle. I immediately cleaned it and went to an indoor range to see how it fired. I did a rough military zero for 100 yds at 25 yds and after 2 windage and elevation adjustments I was getting 1 inch groups. Can't wait to get to a longer range where I can really try it out. I know it'll be right on the mark. I'll be placing another order soon. Thank you for the great service and quality of my M1. Charles F., Raleigh, NC May 8, 2008I received my rifle yesterday and to say I was happy with it is an understatement, when I opened the box and got a whiff of the smell of gun oil and linseed it carried me back fifty some years when I first fired the M1 at camp elliot outside San Diego, (and also eventually fired expert) I have always wanted one and although I have no illusions of being able to shoot as well as I did at nineteen, the passing years have compensated by my appreciating it a lot more now. I recently purchased an M1 Garand. I took it out and shot it and the stock
cracked. CMP sent a claim tag for the stock. I sent the stock in and CMP sent
me another stock. I haven't tested it yet, but it looks beautiful. Thank you
CMP. I have posted my great experience with CMP on several forums to spread
the word of the great service at CMP. Thanks

May 6, 2008Dear Mr. Michaels, Taking your advice, rather than wait for HRA Correct Grades to show up at the North Store, I ordered an HRA Correct Grade through the US Mail. You received the order on Friday, April 18th and I received it today, Tuesday May 6th. It is better than what I expected after seeing several SA Correct Grades at the North Store. As a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, whose parents
both served in World War 2, I was very pleased to receive my service grade
Springfield M1 Garand on Feb. 28, 2008. To have the opportunity to own this
fine battle rifle, previously owned by my country's government, was the best
possible commentary on the 2nd Amendment. The service I received from everyone
at the CMP was 1st class all the way. All of my questions throughout the
ordering process were answered in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. 57
days after my order was placed to the Anniston store, my rifle arrived. I
could not suppress a smile when I opened the box. The rifle I received was in
absolutely beautiful condition! The serial number indicated a World War 2
vintage, which made the rifle all the more meaningful. I gave the rifle a
thorough cleaning and inspection and took her to the range. The old war horse,
despite my aging eyes, consistently produced groups averaging around 2 inches
at 100 yards, with a few even smaller ones at the end of the day. I could not
be happier with my rifle and will long treasure it. My sincere thanks to
everyone at the CMP for a great job in making this possible!
